Big Update

Wow! I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted on my blog. There is so much that has happened in the last year or so since my last post. Here is an update:

February 2013 - 5th Anniversary Trip to Hawaii! We decided to spend a few days of our Anniversary trip in Oahu and then a few days in Maui. We went hiking, snorkeling, surfing, ate at great restaurants, and just relaxed. It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back!

March 2013 - We celebrated my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary with a black tie party at the Center Club. It was so much fun to get dressed up and celebrate 50 years of love.

I attended a few concerts in 2013 - Kesha/ Pitbull concert with my Bestie at the Hollywood Bowl. It was more fun that I thought it would be. One Direction concert at the Staples Center with my little sister, Chloe and her best friend Britney. This was my sister's first concert and she had a great time. Taylor Swift concert at the Staples Center with Chloe, Britney and Aly.

Jared and I spent the day in Venice Beach where Jared was able to pick up his Google Glasses. It was fun walking along the beach, riding bikes on the beach, seeing the street performers, and playing games on the pier.

July 2013 - We got to go to England with my family for almost 2 weeks. It was such a fun trip! We were able to see the Tower of London, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, Windsor Castle, The Crown Jewels, Stonehenge, and The Roman Baths. We rode the Underground everywhere, saw Les Miserables, ate yummy English food, walked around a lot, rode the London Eye, met up with a friend of my brothers that was living there for school, and lots of shopping. We had a lot of fun exploring this city and I really want to plan another trip there to see so much more!

October 2013 - Jared and I bought a house! After searching for about 2 years, we finally found the house for us. It is a cute 3 bedroom home in Placentia, CA and we love it! We are still working on getting everything put together and making it our own but things are coming together great! Once I am done with more of it I will do another post with pictures.

Another fun thing that happened in October, I went to Mickey's Halloween Time for the first time with my Bestie Friend, Andrea. It was so much fun to walk around Disneyland collecting tons of candy, seeing all the fun costumes and riding the fun rides.

November 2013 - We made a huge announcement... We are expecting a baby June 17, 2014. We are so excited! We have been waiting for this moment for a long time and I still can't believe that we are going to be parents!

December 2013 - Jared and I made the announcement to our family and friends, through a cake, that we are expecting a baby girl!!!! Her name will be Caitlyn Marie and we can't wait to meet her!

March 2014 - Jared and I decided to take a Babymoon to San Diego. We stayed at the Paradise Point Resort and Spa. Our room looked right out at Mission Bay. There were fire pits all around the property so we had bonfires a few times while we were there. We went to the beach, kayaked around Mission Bay, went the Old Town San Diego, went to the San Diego Zoo, went to the San Diego Temple, ate yummy food, got massages, and just relaxed. It was a great vacation before baby girl comes.

To Maintain A Healthy Level Of Insanity

My grandma sent this to me and I thought I would share...

1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.

2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.

3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

4. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.

5. In the memo field of all your checks, write 'For Marijuana'.

6. Skip down the hall rather than walk and see how many looks you get.

7. Order a diet water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.

8. Specify that your drive-through order is 'To-Go'.

9. Sing along at the Opera.

10. Five days in advance, tell your friends that you can't attend their party because you have a headache.

11. When the money comes out of the ATM, scream 'I WON! I WON!'

12. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling 'Run for your lives! They're loose!'

13. Tell your children over dinner, 'Due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go'.

14. Pick up a box of condoms at the pharmacy, go to the counter and ask where the fitting room is.

Disneyland Adventures

Last weekend Jared and I took the day off of work and spent the day at Disneyland. Our really good friends, Mike and Katie, were here from Idaho for the weekend for a wedding and to bless their adorable baby Cayden. We spent the day going on some of our favorite rides and having a yummy lunch at the exclusive restaurant Club 33.

We had so much fun!! We love California Screamin' and Tower of Terror and thankfully those rides weren't very crowded.

Tower of Terror... a favorite!

California Screamin'... another favorite!

We had our lunch at Club 33. This restaurant is located right next to The Blue Bayou. It is by reservation only. The only way to get reservations is if you are a Club 33 member or you know someone who is a member. Along with the lunch or dinner reservation, you get park hopper tickets for the day.

Bowling

Saturday night Jared and I went bowling with some friends at the Garden Walk in Anaheim. This place was so nice!! It was the cleanest bowling alley I have ever been in. It was definately more pricey than normal but so worth it!

This is what the bowling alley looks like. So nice!!

Til Death Do Us Part.... Murder!

This weekend we decided to throw a Murder Mystery dinner with some friends. I had never done one of these before, so I was a littler nervous about it. We decided to have the evening at my grandparents house because we wanted to use their jacuzzi after the game, unfortunately it rained on Saturday so we were unable to use the jacuzzi.

If you have never played before this is what happens... Everyone in the party get a character that they get to dress up as and be during the dinner. Our game was about a bride that was murdered on her wedding day just before the reception. We got to play some of the people that knew the bride and try to figure out who killed her. We had everything from the groom to an island gigaloo (spelling?) who enjoys romancing the eldery, from an island party girl to a hippy. This game had it all. I was so happy to see that everyone came dressed in the characters. That really made the game more fun when you try to dress like you character. I wont spoil the ending for anyone that will play this game.

Here are some pictures from our evening. Stacy thank you for making the perfect cake for our Murder Mystery Evening!

Disney On Ice: World of Fantasy

For Christmas I got Chloe tickets to Disney on Ice: World of Fantasy in Long Beach. It was a lot of fun to get to spend time with my sister. We both really enjoyed the show and since I am such a Disney nut I had to sing a long to all the songs.

Ducks Game!

Last Thursday night we went to the Ducks game with Mike and Katie. It was so much fun!!! We got the tickets from my company and the seats were about 7 rows away from the ice! I have never sat that close before. You could smell the sweat... and it didn't smell good. Sadly our Ducks lost agains the Canucks. But, there was a lot of entertainment with some pretty good fights. Here are some pictures from our evening, thanks to Katie for bringing her camera. (I totally forgot mine.)

Crazy Mazey!

Jared and I have been puppy sitting for Jared's family this week. This is Mazey! She is a cockapoo puppy and is about 6 weeks old. She is so much fun! We all call her 'Crazy Mazey' for a reason. She is so energetic!! She is always running around, following someone, or playing with her toys. When she isnt doing those things she is causing some sort of trouble. We love having her at the house and greeting us when we come home from work. On Tuesday morning she cried when Jared left for work, then she tried to follow me out the front door and come to work with me. We love her so much!!! We can't wait until we can get a little puppy of our own.

She loves sitting with Jared while he is on the computer.

Fun Saturday

This past Saturday Jared and I spent some time with our good friends Mike and Katie. We spend the morning doing a session at the Newport Beach Temple, then afterwards we went to Fashion Island and had lunch at Red Robin.
Sometimes when Jared and Mike get together they make things called 'Trash Art'. Well this time they decided to make an art piece that reflected everything they ate at lunch. This included their freckled lemonade, onion rings, hamburger, Mikes sandwich, and someother things. They were very proud of their creation so I took some pictures.

Jared and Mike with their creation.

They were so proud!

After lunch we wanted to go to the beach, but it was cloudy and a little rainy so we decided to walk around Fashion Island. We found the Pet store... I have decided that Jared and I need a puppy. I found this Yorkie Terrier that was too adorable and that would have fit in our little family so perfectly. However, since we dont have a home of our own right now we cant have a pet. :( Isn't that little face so adorable??

Finally around 1:00 the clouds parted and it was sunny, so we hurried to our cars and drove to the closest beach, which was Corona Del Mar (not my favorite). We had so much fun!! Jared and Mike spent their time playing in the waves and body boarding. Then we all took a walk and looked at some of the houses near by. (I wouldn't mind living there!!)

Just for Fun

I am so obsessed with this Photoshop thing online that a friend of ours introduced me to. Almost every picture that I take or have on my computer I have been playing with on this fun website. There are so many things you can do to the pictures and it is for free. There are other things that look really cool, but you have to pay for them. Here are some pictures that I have Photoshoped lately.

On Monday night for Family Home Evening, Jared and I went to see the Wolverine movie. It was so good!! We love those kind of action pact movies. The beginning of the movie was very well done and set up the rest of the movie better than most movies I have seen. I'm not going to give anything away, but if you haven't seen the movie yet, you have to! Last night Nona and I had a Girls Night with some of the Relief Society sisters. We went to dinner at the Fish Market (off of La Palma) and saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. It was such a cute movie with a really good message, however, I didn't like all the sexual comments that were made throughout the movie. This is a good Girls Night movie.
Now we are planning on a vacation. Jared and I are in need of a vacation. So, after school is done we are taking a trip to Northern California to visit Jared's mission. I am really excited to see where Jared served his mission and meet some of the people that he served. We will be making a stop in Yosemite National Park for a night and we are going to try to hike up Half Dome. It looks really hard but I think we can do it!

Fun Surprise at Disneyland

So, today Jared and I went to Disneyland with his family. We spent our time with Jared's family at California Adventures. Jared, Chloe, Kelsea, Jake and Daddy Rummler thought it would be fun to run through those water parts in the Bugs Land. Chloe was soaked!!! Later that evening when his family left we met up with my family. We had dinner at the Pizza Port and went on a couple rides. My mom hadn't been on the Small World since they reopened it, so of course we went on that ride. Jared is such a good sport with going on the little kid rides with me. Anyways, so after we went on It's a Small World, we decided to go on Pirates... well unfortunately it was closed for some reason so we went on the Haunted Mansion instead. While we were in one of the rooms getting ready to go on the ride I saw Shawn Johnson from Dancing with the Stars!!!I was sad that Mark wasn't with her... that would have been amazing!!!!I pointed her out to Jared and he told me that I should go up to talk to her. I honestly didn't want to bother her because I am sure she just wanted to have a normal day and have fun at Disneyland, however, Jared decided to go up to her. He talked to her for a minute and told her that I loved watching Dancing with the Stars that she she is my favorite dancer. (Which is true). Anyways, I thought it was cool that we saw her in person. She is so tiny!!! Honestly if I was to stand next to her should would come up a little past my shoulders and I am only 5'3!!! We had such a fun day at Disneyland with our families. We feel so blessed that we are able to go to Disneyland whenever we want and are able to live close enough to family to see them often.

Beach Day

I love Saturdays! This morning we helped move my great grandma into my other grandparents house. It was hard getting up early to do that, but thankfully we got done quickly. Since we got done early in the day, Jared and I decided to take advantage of this beautiful weather we have been having here in Souther California. We took a trip down to Huntington Beach where I layed out and read my book, while Jared went skimboarding. There was some people taping stuff for a new VH1 show and they taped Jared a little bit while he was skimboarding. He is pretty stoked about that! Jared's parents met up with us later and we spent time with them. Of course we couldnt leave Huntington without eating a burger from the best burger place... TK Burger. Mmmm.... it was so good.

We feel so grateful to live in Southern California, where we can go to the beach whenever we want. Hopefully this summer we can go to the beach a lot... we are hoping to plan a bon fire after school gets out!!

Playing Hookie

So, Jared and I had our Spring Break last week and decided that we wanted to take a day off of work. The weather was really nice so we drove down to Balboa and rented beach cruisers. It was so much fun!! We rode almost to Huntington! Now we want to buy bikes so we can do this more often. After the bike ride we had lunch at Rubys on the Balboa Pier then went back home and watched Marley & Me. I thought that was a really cute movie, but a very sad ending. Now, we are trying to figure out when we are going to take another day off of work to just go play at the beach.

My Little Goober

This past weekend I got to spend time with my little sister. Something I don't get to do very often. I picked her up from my grandparents house on Friday and took her to Disneyland. We went on 'Its A Small World' and 'Pirates of the Carribean'. We both had a lot of fun. Small World changed a couple things in the ride. They added a lot of the Disney characters, so it was fun to sit and point ones out to each other as we went by. Pirates was alot of fun, it always is, its a classic Disney ride and we both love it!!

Update!

Its been forever since I last blogged, but things have been crazy with the holidays coming up. (I posted some pictures at the bottom.)

For my birthday (Nov. 26) Jared took me to the Cheesecake Factory at the Irvine Spectrum for dinner. Then we went to this new cup cake store, where we were able to frost and decorate our own cup cakes. Since I love cup cakes, that was the perfect dessert! After we decorated the our cup cake, we went to see the 007 movie, Quantum of Solace.

Thanksgiving weekend was great because we were able to sleep in and spend time with our families. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my grandparents house. My family loves to play games, so this year we played Apples to Apples and Dominos. Since we didn't see Jared's family on Thanksgiving, we met them at Disneyland the next day for a couple hours and went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner.

After Thanksgiving all I wanted to do was decorate for Christmas. Jared and I went out and got our first Christmas tree and decorated it with some ornaments that my grandma had given us. I love the feel of our apartment when I come home and see the Christmas spirit there. Last week my little sister Chloe had her annual Gingerbread House Decorating party. Of course Jared and I were there to help my mom out. Its always fun to watch the kids decorate their little houses with so much candy. There are some that come with designs in mind for their houses.

Well, that pretty much sums up what we have been up to for the past couple weeks. Hopefully I will stay on top of keeping this updated. Now we are both trying to hurry and get our holiday shopping done before Christmas next week. Also, Jared and I are looking forward to our trip to Egypt after Christmas.

Halloween Time!

Jared and I went to Disneyland with our friends Mike and Katie. We had so much fun with them eating dinner and going on a ton of rides. My favorite ride of the night was the Haunted Mansion. From Halloween to Christmas, Disneyland decorates the Haunted Mansion with The Nightmare Before Christmas theme.

Happy Birthday Hubby!!!

Saturday was Jared's 23rd birthday!!!

Since my dad and brother's birthday also fall around Jared's birthday, we went to dinner with my grandparents to this amazing Brazillian restaurant in Irvine called Agora's. All the waiters walked around with different kinds of meat on these large sticks. At the end of the night we had each tried 12 different kinds of meats... That was a lot!!!

For breakfast, on Saturday, I made Jared eggs and toast, then as soon as we were done with breakfast we went to the beach. Jared and I met up with his family and spent all day at Huntington Beach. For lunch we went to BJ's on Main Street for pizza and of course a pazzookie. I was going to make chicken parmesean for dinner but because of all the food we had eaten the past 2 days, we were both very very full! So, instead Jared blew out his birthday candles on the cake that I made for him, and we shared a piece of cake. It was a two layer white cake with strawberry jam in the middle, white frosting, and cut strawberries on top.

Sunday, we went to Nona's house after church for dinner with his family. Nona made Jared's favorite dinner... Milanesa. It's an Argentinian dish that is really good! Nona also made this amazing Strawberry Merangue cake. It was sooo good. Needless to say, Jared and I need to go on a diet just from this weekend and all the amazing food that we ate.

(Sorry there aren't any pictures. Jared and I can't find the charger to our camera.)

Tennis Anyone????

So, Jared and I are trying to get into shape and we are looking for new, fun, interesting ways to do it. I don't like to run all the time because I get bored of it, so we started playing Smash Ball. That is a game that is normally played on the beach. It is like tennis, but with no net and you jusy hit the ball back and forth. Jared and I have gotten pretty good at that game. Then at the Rummler Family Reunion over the 4th of July weekend, we tried playing badminton. That was a lot of fun and we got pretty good at it. After we got home we then wanted to broaden our horizon and try out tennis. So we bought a racket for me and Jared borrowed his dad's. Well, we aren't that good. We have only been a couple times and seem to get a little better each time we go. So, unless you are really, really good... Anyone up for tennis????
