Amazing Book

So, my parents have been going on and on about this book and movie, The Ultimate Gift, for a while. I borrowed the movie from them, but Jared and I never got around to watching it. This past week, I asked if I could borrow the book to take on the cruise with me. Well, I finished it in one day.

I got the book from my dad while I was at work, and I started reading a little bit of it during my lunch break. I got so into the book that as soon as I got home, I read the rest of it. Its not a long book, so it didn't take me too long. If you haven't read it, I would definately recommend reading it.

The book is about a guy named Red Stevens, who dies and his life long friend and attorney is reading his will to Red's family. The man's great nephew, Jason, is to recieve the Ultimate Gift from his late great uncle. However, Jason has to complete a list of tasks in order to recieve this gift. It made me really look at my own life and look at the things that I do, and how I treat others. It made me realize the small things that I want to teach my children.

So Close....

Jared and I are getting ready to go on our honeymoon next week. This couldn't have come at a better time for us. I am so burnt out from being at work and waking up so early. Jared has been working so hard at school and is now working full time, so we both could use a little R&R (Rest and Relaxation).

Jared and I have been so blessed with our wedding. We were able to already have one honeymoon down in San Diego right after our wedding, and now we are going on our offical honeymoon on a cruise through the Southern Caribbean. We are so excited to spend 7 days in our bathing suits laying on the beaches.

3 Day Weekend!!!!

First things first... I love 3 day weekends! It was so nice to be able to sleep in... I didnt wake up until 10am!!! The other great thing about this weekend was the fact that it was Memorial Day Weekend, which means beach day! However, its wasn't too great when the clouds decided to show up.

First on Friday, Jared and I went to dinner and a movie. We saw Narnia: Price Caspian. It was a great movie. Jared personally liked the first one better because the lion kind of made this new one a little weird, but I liked it. I would definatly recommend it and see it again.

California Adventures: I took this picture a couple years ago
Since Jared's Disneyland pass was going to expire soon, we decided to see what Disneyland was like on Saturday. It was really crowded. However, we got his new pass and went on a couple rides. If you didn't know, there is an Aladin play in California Adventures in the theater right before you get to The Tower of Terror ride. We were so tired of standing and walking around, and I heard from my parents that it was a good show, so we thought we would check it out. It was a really good play. They sang all of the songs from the movie and had fun with the audiance. If you get to California Adventures, make sure to stop by and check out the play.
Monday, we went to San Onofre Beach. Jared wanted to go surfing so we spent part of Monday at the beach. We were only there for a couple hours when it started to get cloudy and cold. So we went home and went out to dinner. Here are some pictures from the beach.....

1 Year Ago.....

This is one of the first pictures taken together at Disneyland almost a year ago
Exactly one year ago... Jared and I met on May 1, 2007... then 3 days later, on May 3, 2007 we went on our first date. So, we decided to celebrate that wonderful first date again. For our first date, he took me to T.G.I. Friday's and we had dessert. After we went to the movies and saw "Invisible". It wasn't the best movie but we both had fun on our date.

This is Jared and I at our table at The Olive Garden in Brea
Jared took me to The Olive Garden for dinner. Now we seem to go to this resturant a lot... but we like it. We shared the Tour of Italy, which includes Chicken Parmesean, Fetticini Alfredo, and Lasagna. I know it sounds like a lot, but it is a great meal to share.

It was really cute... he got me these beautiful flowers. We decided to get dressed up for our date. So while I was finishing getting ready, he said that he was going to clean out his car and take the trash out. Well, he was gone for a long time. Then all of a sudden I heard a knock at the door. I looked around the apartment to see if Jared was there, but he wasn't. So when I opened the door, Jared was standing there with my flowers.... and he asked me out. Hehehe. It was so cute!!! He also bought some beautiful yellow flowers (not pictured) for our table.
After dinner, we wanted to do something else. So we went to the Birch Street Movie Theater's and watched "Made of Honor". I thought it was a really cute movie. Very predictable but I enjoyed it. Jared, just went because I wanted to see it. He liked it but I am sure he wont watch it again... unless I bat my eyes and say please.

Weekend fun!

Jared and I at the beach with some friends for a bonfire.
On Friday we went on a date with Jordan, Stephanie, and Jordan's friends. It was a lot of fun. We went to Ruby's on PCH down in Corona Del Mar then went to the beach and had a bonfire.

Jared and his Dad after running the 5K race in Placentia.
Saturday morning, Jared and his dad ran the annual 5K race in Placentia. After being out late the night before, it was a really early morning for both of us. I didn't run the race this year, but maybe next year. I was standing at the finish line to cheer them on. Jared's family was there too. Micah ran the kids 1 mile race around the lake at TriCity Park. It was a great family activity.

Jared and I at my grandparents house.
That same Saturday night, Jared and I went to my grandparents house to celebrate the birthdays for the month of April. There were atleast 4 people in my family that had their birthdays in April. For dessert, my grandma had purchased a chocolate fountain... it was sooo good... Jared wants to go out and purchase one too. However, we have a fondue pot, so come on over to our house and we will have a chocolate fondue party!!

2 Month Wedding Anniversary

Jared and I on the Jungle Cruise
Jared and I celebrated our 2 month wedding anniversary yesterday. We decided to spend some time at Disneyland. We only went on two rides because of how tired we were and how crowded it was starting to get. After we left Disneyland, we went to dinner at the Olive Garden. Mmmmm... it was so good.

Chloe's Baptism

Chloe and I after the baptism
My baby sister, Chloe, and her friends Brittney were baptized this past Saturday (April 12, 2008). It was such a great day. They were both so cute wearing thier little baptism dresses and getting their hair done for this special day. Now, most of you are wondering why they got their hair done if they were just going to get it wet. Well, Chloe got her hair frech-braided and Brittney got some cute braids in her hair too. Unfortunately, Jared was unable to go to the baptism, he had strep-throat (spell???). Luckily, he is doing much better! It is so hard for me to believe that my little sister is already 8 years old. She is the best sister anyone could ask for.
