Lunch Break Touring the Galaxy

I had a great lunch break at work today. A co-worker won a time for a group of us to go preview the Star Tours ride at Disneyland between 9AM - 1PM. We went during our lunch break today and it was AMAZING!!

I loved the ride before they changed anything, it was a classic ride. They really improved the ride with the special effects and the over-all look of the ride. The ride has 54 different endings to it. I love how they incorporated the new Star Wars movies into the ride.

I can't wait to go on the ride again to see what ending I get. I am so grateful that I work close enough to Disneyland so I was able to go on the ride during my lunch break.

Book Review: Wither

Wither is a great book. I thought it was going to be a little weird after reading about it, but then I read the first chapter and got hooked. (See below for the Synopsis.) Wither is the first book in a trilogy. The second book was just announced to come out in February 2012 with the titled, Fever. I am very excited for this to come out, since the first book finished on a major cliff hanger.

Synopsis:
What if you knew exactly when you would die?

Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb - males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.

When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape - to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant Rhine is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limited time she has left.
