Mr. Darcy's Story

I am so in love with the Pride and Prejudice story. I think that 'Pride and Prejudice, the version with Kiera Knightly, is one of my all time favorite movies. I have probably watched it over a dozen times.
My mom introduced me to this series about Mr. Darcy. It is a series of three books that go through the Jane Austin, Pride and Prejudice story, but through Mr. Darcy's eyes. You get to understand why he did some of the things that he did, like splitting up Jane Bennett and Charles Bingley.

Jane Bennett & Charles Bingley - 'Pride and Prejudice', 2005

I just finished the first of the three books and I am now working on the second. Now when I watch 'Pride and Prejudice' I understand Mr. Darcy better. For those that love a good romantic book or love Jane Austin, you will love these books. For a summary about the books click on the links below.

Busy Busy Saturday

Today, I had an incredibly busy day. In the morning my little sister Chloe, had a swim meet. This was he last swim meet for a while, so I decided that I needed to go. She did such a good job. I couldn't be more proud. She swam 50 Backstrock, 50 Butterfly, and 50 Free (50 = 2 laps). Today was the first time she swam Butterfly in a race, and since that was my race in high school, I had to go and support her. She dropped her time in her Backstroke and Freestyle.

After Chloe's swim meet, I went with my mom to my Grandma Sharon's house and we baked until 9:00pm. We made Chocolate Fudge, Peanut Butter Balls, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Covered Cherries and Crispy Waffer Cookies. All the recipes for these I will put on my Cute Little Tidbits blog.

Christmas at Work

This year I was able to decorate the Corporate Office where I work. My mom, Grandma, and Aunt Suzanne took me to lunch and helped decorate the trees. I have one in my office and a larger tree in the lobby.

Happy Birthday & Thanksgiving

I am so behind on my blogging!!! I finally have a second to sit down and upload all my pictures and write on here. Thanksgiving was my 23rd birthday. This was one of those years where I was privledged to have my birthday on Thanksgiving. In the morning Jared and I went to Disneyland to pick up my $72 birthday gift card and went on one ride. Sadly the whole Thanksgiving weekend Jared was sick with a really bad head cold so we didnt do much. We did however go to Fry's and buy our Chirstmas present, a desktop computer. We love it!!! Here are the few pictures of the weekend.

To My Girlfriends...

I am only as strong as the chocolate I eat, the hair spray I use and the friends I have. To the amazing women that have touched my life... Here's to you!
What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants and shopping, lunching, and traveling girls?

Super Saturday!

Last Saturday, I went with my mom to her ward's Super Saturday. Basically, a Super Saturday is when the sisters of Relief Society get together and do crafts. I love doing crafts, but never really have time to do anything. It was a lot of fun to get together and spend a day with my mom. Here are some of the things that I did at the Super Saturday.

Cute Candy Jars

'Let It Snow' decoration plate.

Santa Cookie Plate

Mod Podge Pumpkin

This was my favorite. We are going to have to find a place for it this year.

General Conference Weekend

For General Conference, Jared and I decided to take a trip to Utah. We had gotten tickets to go to the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference, also the Friday before Jared had a mission reunion at BYU that he wanted to attend. So we packed our things and went to Utah.
Our first stop was in St. George. We stopped there on Thursday night and spent the evening with Jared's grandparents that live just outside of St. George in Dammeron Valley. It was great spending time with them, since we dont get to see them very often. The following day, after a great breakfast from Grandma, we drove to our hotel in Midvale, UT, which is just 10 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. We had planned to attend a session in the Salt Lake Temple, but we just didnt have enough time before Jared's mission reunion.

Driving to BYU was not a fun drive... apparently there was a BYU football game that evening so the freeways were packed with people trying to get to the game. We finally made it an hour late to Jared's mission reunion. It was so much fun getting to meet a lot of people that Jared served his mission with and especially his mission president and his wife. They are such sweet people and it was great to hear from them, how great of a missionary Jared was. Unfortunately, I was stupid and forgot my camera that night so I dont have any pictures.

The Salt Lake Temple! So Beautiful!!

Saturday of General Conference we got there early and had lunch at the little cafe in the Joseph Smith Building. We had the BEST turkey sandwiches ever!!!! Everything tasted so fresh. I kinda want to go back, just for the sandwich. :) Conference was AMAZING! There is nothing that can compare with the feeling you get when the prophet enters the room and everyone is quiet and stands out of respect. It brought tears to my eyes to see the love everyone has for this wonderful man.

In the Visitor's Center.

They had this cool Jeruselam replica in the Visitor's Center.

I was baptized in the font behind the Tabernacle, I wanted to show Jared the font, but they removed it and built things for the Tabernacle Chior. Here is one of the doors that goes into where the font used to be.

All in all, our weekend was great. There are so many things we didnt get to do that we wanted, and there were so many people that we wish we could have seen, but because of time we weren't able to. Next time... we are flying!

New Project!

I have been having so much fun making all these baby blankets! I just finished the one for my friend Krystal who is having a baby boy this December. Jared's little sister Kelsea saw me working on the blanket and said that she wanted one too. So for Christmas I am making Kelsea a blanket. However, her's is going to of course be bigger than the baby blankets that I have made. I just purchased the fabric this weekend and can't wait to get started!!
For my new project I have decided that I am going to start cross stitching more. My little sister's bedroom and bathroom are decorated with a beach theme. So, I came across this cute picture that I am going to cross stitch for her for Christmas. It's small but its a lot harder than other cross stitch projects that I have done before. I will post a finished picture when I am all done.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Saturday night Jared and I went to the movies and saw
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs....
We both wanted to see it but weren't sure it would be worth seeing it in 3D or even spending the money to see it. Let me just say that this was the best kids movie that I have seen in a long time! We both laughed so hard!!! It was difinatly work seeing in the 3D, for some reason the movies look better even if things aren't popping out at you.
The Jello House!!!
I would totally love waking up to ice cream being everywhere like snow.

Raining hamburgers... Great!

Ducks Game!

Last Thursday night we went to the Ducks game with Mike and Katie. It was so much fun!!! We got the tickets from my company and the seats were about 7 rows away from the ice! I have never sat that close before. You could smell the sweat... and it didn't smell good. Sadly our Ducks lost agains the Canucks. But, there was a lot of entertainment with some pretty good fights. Here are some pictures from our evening, thanks to Katie for bringing her camera. (I totally forgot mine.)

Baby Blanket #1

I decided to try my hand at sewing baby blankets since there are so many people having babies. Here is baby blanket #1. This is for Jared's cousin Mary Ann. She has two adorable little boys, Max and Ian, and she is having her first little girl this October. This blanket I decided to make all pink!
I am now in the process of making two more blankets, one for my friend Amanda and the other is for a friend at work, Krystal.

Birthday Celebrations

So this month has been a busy one. We celebrated three birthdays for what seemed like the whole month of August. First my dad's birthday was on the 12th and he turned 49 years old. Second Jared's birthday was on the 16th and he turned 24 years old. Last my brother's birthday was on the 20th and he turned 21 years old.
We celebrated Jared's birthday first with his family on his birthday. We also stopped by Disneyland so Jared could pick up his birthday gift card. We had a wonderful dinner at his parents house and for desert we had the birthday cake that I made him.
