Fun Saturday

This past Saturday Jared and I spent some time with our good friends Mike and Katie. We spend the morning doing a session at the Newport Beach Temple, then afterwards we went to Fashion Island and had lunch at Red Robin.
Sometimes when Jared and Mike get together they make things called 'Trash Art'. Well this time they decided to make an art piece that reflected everything they ate at lunch. This included their freckled lemonade, onion rings, hamburger, Mikes sandwich, and someother things. They were very proud of their creation so I took some pictures.

Jared and Mike with their creation.

They were so proud!

After lunch we wanted to go to the beach, but it was cloudy and a little rainy so we decided to walk around Fashion Island. We found the Pet store... I have decided that Jared and I need a puppy. I found this Yorkie Terrier that was too adorable and that would have fit in our little family so perfectly. However, since we dont have a home of our own right now we cant have a pet. :( Isn't that little face so adorable??

Finally around 1:00 the clouds parted and it was sunny, so we hurried to our cars and drove to the closest beach, which was Corona Del Mar (not my favorite). We had so much fun!! Jared and Mike spent their time playing in the waves and body boarding. Then we all took a walk and looked at some of the houses near by. (I wouldn't mind living there!!)

Bestie Day At Disneyland

Andrea and I decided to have a Girls Day and go to Disneyland after work. It was so much fun! I haven't had a Girls Day in a long time. We went on a ton of little kid rides and for anyone that knows me, knows I love doing that!

'Sleeping Beauty Carousel'

Tribute to Great Grandma Ruth

My Great-Grandma, Ruth Goodwin, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 7:10pm. She was 88 years old. She passed away in the comfort of her own room at her son’s house in Anaheim Hills. I am so grateful that I was able to be with her during her last minutes.

She was such an amazing grandma. Something that will stay in my mind forever is the countless hours that we used to watch Shirley Temple movies. These were some of her favorite movies, and she passed that love down to me. I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend time with my great grandma. She was such a loving, fun, beautiful person. She will be greatly missed.
I am grateful for the knowledge that I have that I will be able to see her again someday. I know that she is happier now that she is together with her husband, whom she lost over 20 years ago and a baby that died at birth. She lived an amazing life and was able to travel the world. A week ago, Jared and I were able to sit and talk with her. Jared asked her if she had any advice for us being a newly married couple. Her only response was to “love each other unconditionally.”

Thank you for everything GG. I love you.
