I Did It!!!

Well, I finally did it. For Christmas I decided that I would make my little sister, Chloe, a quilt. It was my first quilt that I have made by myself. It took a lot of hard work, but last night I finally finished it! Here is a picture of the quilt...

Update!

Its been forever since I last blogged, but things have been crazy with the holidays coming up. (I posted some pictures at the bottom.)

For my birthday (Nov. 26) Jared took me to the Cheesecake Factory at the Irvine Spectrum for dinner. Then we went to this new cup cake store, where we were able to frost and decorate our own cup cakes. Since I love cup cakes, that was the perfect dessert! After we decorated the our cup cake, we went to see the 007 movie, Quantum of Solace.

Thanksgiving weekend was great because we were able to sleep in and spend time with our families. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my grandparents house. My family loves to play games, so this year we played Apples to Apples and Dominos. Since we didn't see Jared's family on Thanksgiving, we met them at Disneyland the next day for a couple hours and went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner.

After Thanksgiving all I wanted to do was decorate for Christmas. Jared and I went out and got our first Christmas tree and decorated it with some ornaments that my grandma had given us. I love the feel of our apartment when I come home and see the Christmas spirit there. Last week my little sister Chloe had her annual Gingerbread House Decorating party. Of course Jared and I were there to help my mom out. Its always fun to watch the kids decorate their little houses with so much candy. There are some that come with designs in mind for their houses.

Well, that pretty much sums up what we have been up to for the past couple weeks. Hopefully I will stay on top of keeping this updated. Now we are both trying to hurry and get our holiday shopping done before Christmas next week. Also, Jared and I are looking forward to our trip to Egypt after Christmas.

Weekend Recap

Friday night was the Twilight Movie opening, so of course Jared and I went to see it. We went with our good friends Mike and Katie. Before the movie, Jared and I went to Acapulco for dinner.

It was really good. I am glad that I got to see it on opening night, however, there was a down side... there were a lot of screaming teenage girls there. Oh well. I liked the movie, however, it wasn't as good as the book. There were a couple scenes I would have extended and others parts of the book that I would have wanted to see, but all and all it was good. Summit Entertainment also released a statement this weekend saying that they are going ahead with turning the second book, New Moon, into a movie.

Saturday night, we went out to dinner at the Olive Garden with Grandma and Grandpa McGregor and my parents for my birthday. After dinner, we went back to my Grandparents house for apple cobler dessert and for me to open my present. They got me my first sewing machine. I am so excited. I am planning on making a couple quilts for Christmas this year, and now I have my own sewing machine. YAY. I never thought I would be so excited to get that. Also, from my parents I got a new cell phone. It is so cute!!! Its the new Verizon Blitz. I love it!!!

Fire

Saturday was a scary day. As everyone knows there were some crazy fires in Corona/Anaheim Hills/Yorba Linda, Brea, Modesto and Sylmar. The fires have consumed over 35,000 acres so far. Thankfully, my family is safe from this disaster, however there were many people who lost their homes this weekend. Our hearts and prayers go out to those who were affected.

San Onofre

This past weekend, Jared and I went to San Onofre with Amber and Jorge, some friends of his from work. We did a nature walk/ hike on a trail at the state beach. After our hike we went to the beach. Jared went surfing while I layed out and Jorge and Amber threw the football around. I loved the hike, I am hoping that we can do that more often.

Halloween Time!

Jared and I went to Disneyland with our friends Mike and Katie. We had so much fun with them eating dinner and going on a ton of rides. My favorite ride of the night was the Haunted Mansion. From Halloween to Christmas, Disneyland decorates the Haunted Mansion with The Nightmare Before Christmas theme.

Twilight

So, I just broke my own record... I read the first Twilight book in less than 48 hours. Yep thats right... all 480 pages of that book. It was the most interesting, mezmorizing book I have ever read. Every time I would try to stop reading, there was never a good place to stop. Every sentence left you wanting more. I am now convinced that I am going to read all 4 books before the movie comes out on November 21!!! Just before my birthday (Nov. 26)!!! YAY!!!

Childish Loves

So, this is really dorky... but I am so excited... The new Little Mermaid movie "Ariel's Beginning" is coming out today! I am so excited to buy it and watch it tonight. This movie is about Ariel's life before she met Prince Eric and when she became friends with Flounder.

For as long as I can remember The Little Mermaid has been my favorite Disney movie and Ariel has been my favorite Disney Princess. I could basically quote the whole movie and sing all the songs. What can I say... I am still a little kid at heart.

Happy Birthday Hubby!!!

Saturday was Jared's 23rd birthday!!!

Since my dad and brother's birthday also fall around Jared's birthday, we went to dinner with my grandparents to this amazing Brazillian restaurant in Irvine called Agora's. All the waiters walked around with different kinds of meat on these large sticks. At the end of the night we had each tried 12 different kinds of meats... That was a lot!!!

For breakfast, on Saturday, I made Jared eggs and toast, then as soon as we were done with breakfast we went to the beach. Jared and I met up with his family and spent all day at Huntington Beach. For lunch we went to BJ's on Main Street for pizza and of course a pazzookie. I was going to make chicken parmesean for dinner but because of all the food we had eaten the past 2 days, we were both very very full! So, instead Jared blew out his birthday candles on the cake that I made for him, and we shared a piece of cake. It was a two layer white cake with strawberry jam in the middle, white frosting, and cut strawberries on top.

Sunday, we went to Nona's house after church for dinner with his family. Nona made Jared's favorite dinner... Milanesa. It's an Argentinian dish that is really good! Nona also made this amazing Strawberry Merangue cake. It was sooo good. Needless to say, Jared and I need to go on a diet just from this weekend and all the amazing food that we ate.

(Sorry there aren't any pictures. Jared and I can't find the charger to our camera.)

Tennis Anyone????

So, Jared and I are trying to get into shape and we are looking for new, fun, interesting ways to do it. I don't like to run all the time because I get bored of it, so we started playing Smash Ball. That is a game that is normally played on the beach. It is like tennis, but with no net and you jusy hit the ball back and forth. Jared and I have gotten pretty good at that game. Then at the Rummler Family Reunion over the 4th of July weekend, we tried playing badminton. That was a lot of fun and we got pretty good at it. After we got home we then wanted to broaden our horizon and try out tennis. So we bought a racket for me and Jared borrowed his dad's. Well, we aren't that good. We have only been a couple times and seem to get a little better each time we go. So, unless you are really, really good... Anyone up for tennis????

The Dark Knight

Saturday night, Jared and I went to The Block and saw The Dark Knight movie. That was such an amazing movie. Normally, the first movie in a sequil is better, however, in this case the second blew the first Batman away. There were so many suprises throughout the movie and things I never thought would happen. If you haven't seen it yet YOU MUST SEE IT!!! Its been two days since Jared and I saw it and I am still in awe. The movie made $153.34 million dollars opening weekend! Spiderman only made $151 million on its opening weekend... now we know who the better hero is. (Jared and I are Batman fans. Sorry to anyone who is a Spiderman fan.)

Heath Ledger did an amazing job in this movie. There were a couple of scenes that I couldn't tell it was him as the Joker. He had some mannerisms that were very creepy and made my skin crawl but, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. He was so mezmorizing in his performance as the Joker.

Family Time In Utah

This past weekend Jared and I went to St. George, UT for a Rummler Family Reunion and to celebrate his grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. We did so many great things while we were there...
On the 4th of July we all met at the Pine Valley State Park for a family picnic and some fun times. Jared and I went on a walk around a small part of the park and saw a deer near our picnic area. We had fun playing games and talking with the family. We had dinner that night at a restaurant called The Pizza Factory... that was amazing pizza. The bread sticks were huge... but so incredibly good!! We went to a nearby park to watch the fireworks, then before heading back to the hotel we lit a couple of our own fireworks in a empty parking lot.
Jared and I at Pine Valley State Park
We saw a deer while we were at the park.
Saturday was probably my favorite day. In the morning, Jared and I got up and did a session at the St. George Temple. That was such a beautiful temple. Jared was talking to one of the men in our session and he said there is about 20+ sealing rooms in the temple. We were able to see some of the sealing rooms. After the temple we hurried to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They had rented a couple things for the kids to play on during the day. One of those things was a rock climbing wall... I had never done it before and was really nervous. So, I did the really easy course (atleats that is what they told me), and Jared did the expert course. Once I got to the top I was very proud of myself for making it to the top because I was getting alittle scared climbing and trying to figure out where my hands and feet were going to go next. When I rang the bell, I looked at the guy in charge of it and asked how I got down... he told me to just hang on to my bungy rope and jump off. It took me a minute to realize what he said and to realize that was the only way down... so I jumped. Some of the other fun things they had were a large slip-n-slide and a huge slide. That night was also Grandma and Grandpa's 50th Anniversary party. So after a day of fun we hurried back to our hotel and got ready for the party. Each family took a family picture before the party started. Then we took a huge family picture.

Go Angels!!!

We haven't had any time to rest since we have been home. Last night we went to an Angels game with Mike and Katie. I got the tickets from my grandparents friends. They have season Diamond Club seats. That was the closest that I have ever sat. Here are some pictures from the event.

Jared and I.... I love my pink Angels hat

This is my favorite thing about games... I love getting these chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.

The view from our seats!

Rummler's in the Caribbean

We just got home from our amazing honeymoon trip to the Southern Caribbean. We had so much fun and wish we could have stayed longer. We did so many new things on this trip. This was Jared's first cruise, and he loved it. Something we took advantage of on this trip was getting multiple desserts at dinner. Jared was really happy about that.
We started our cruise by flying to San Juan, Puerto Rico. It took us about 10 hours to get there. We ended up getting into Puerto Rico at 12:30pm. The hotel we were staying at that night was crazy. It seemed like they had originally had it as a nightclub then added rooms later. There was loud music going on until around 3am. So, needless to say we didn't get much sleep that night.
This is a picture of our cruise ship. We sailed on the Royal Caribbean "Adventure of the Sea"
Our first island that we went to was Barbados. We took a taxi to another part of the island to go snorkeling. While we were driving we saw where Tiger Woods was married. That was kinda cool. While we were snorkeling we saw a ton of fish, however, I cut my foot on a rock. We also went on jet ski's... that was my first time riding one. It was so much fun. I let Jared do all the driving up until the very end. He was having fun trying to jump over waves and knock me off the boat. Thankfully I didn't fall off.
Jared and I on the beach in Barbados.

The second island that we went to was St. Lucia. It was so beautiful. The whole island was like a tropical rain forest. We went on a canopy tour (zip line) excursion. That was probably our favorite excursion that we did. I was really nervous the whole ride there. Our driver didn't help calm my nerves because of how crazy he was driving. After we got there and we got all suited up I started to relax.
Jared and I during our canopy tour on a platform. They made us wear these hair nets because of the rain... so unattractive.
This was about the 3rd platform... I was starting to get the hang of things and was really excited for more lines.
Here I go!!!

There goes Jared!!!
Our guide told us that the last line was the best because it was the longest and the fastest. It was so cool starting out through the trees then all of a sudden there is nothing around you and you can just see the plants and such below you. It was such an amazing feeling and we both can't wait to go again.
The next day we were in Antigua... that was our favorite place. Our guide said that they have 365 beaches... one for every day of the year. At this island we went on a catamaran and snorkel tour. during our snorkel we saw a lot of fish and a stingray. We also went to see a ship wreck. After snorkeling we had lunch on the boat then went to one of the beaches that was in a cove, and hung out there for a while. If we were to go back to any island on this trip it would definately be Antigua.
Jared and I on a water taxi in St. Maarten
Our next stop was St. Maarten... we decided to take a break from the shore excursions and just hang out at the beach. So we rented some beach chairs and also rented a jet ski again. It was a nice relxing day for us.
The last island was St. Thomas. We went on a Kayak and snorkel tour. The kayaking was my favorite. Our guide said that we kayaked for atleast 2 miles and burned 700 calories doing it. We learned so much about the island and the marine life that lived there. We had a little hermet crab race before going snorkeling. While we were in the water we saw a lot of fish, 2 stingrays and 2 baracudas.

Amazing Book

So, my parents have been going on and on about this book and movie, The Ultimate Gift, for a while. I borrowed the movie from them, but Jared and I never got around to watching it. This past week, I asked if I could borrow the book to take on the cruise with me. Well, I finished it in one day.

I got the book from my dad while I was at work, and I started reading a little bit of it during my lunch break. I got so into the book that as soon as I got home, I read the rest of it. Its not a long book, so it didn't take me too long. If you haven't read it, I would definately recommend reading it.

The book is about a guy named Red Stevens, who dies and his life long friend and attorney is reading his will to Red's family. The man's great nephew, Jason, is to recieve the Ultimate Gift from his late great uncle. However, Jason has to complete a list of tasks in order to recieve this gift. It made me really look at my own life and look at the things that I do, and how I treat others. It made me realize the small things that I want to teach my children.

So Close....

Jared and I are getting ready to go on our honeymoon next week. This couldn't have come at a better time for us. I am so burnt out from being at work and waking up so early. Jared has been working so hard at school and is now working full time, so we both could use a little R&R (Rest and Relaxation).

Jared and I have been so blessed with our wedding. We were able to already have one honeymoon down in San Diego right after our wedding, and now we are going on our offical honeymoon on a cruise through the Southern Caribbean. We are so excited to spend 7 days in our bathing suits laying on the beaches.

3 Day Weekend!!!!

First things first... I love 3 day weekends! It was so nice to be able to sleep in... I didnt wake up until 10am!!! The other great thing about this weekend was the fact that it was Memorial Day Weekend, which means beach day! However, its wasn't too great when the clouds decided to show up.

First on Friday, Jared and I went to dinner and a movie. We saw Narnia: Price Caspian. It was a great movie. Jared personally liked the first one better because the lion kind of made this new one a little weird, but I liked it. I would definatly recommend it and see it again.

California Adventures: I took this picture a couple years ago
Since Jared's Disneyland pass was going to expire soon, we decided to see what Disneyland was like on Saturday. It was really crowded. However, we got his new pass and went on a couple rides. If you didn't know, there is an Aladin play in California Adventures in the theater right before you get to The Tower of Terror ride. We were so tired of standing and walking around, and I heard from my parents that it was a good show, so we thought we would check it out. It was a really good play. They sang all of the songs from the movie and had fun with the audiance. If you get to California Adventures, make sure to stop by and check out the play.
Monday, we went to San Onofre Beach. Jared wanted to go surfing so we spent part of Monday at the beach. We were only there for a couple hours when it started to get cloudy and cold. So we went home and went out to dinner. Here are some pictures from the beach.....

Jared going out to catch some waves....

Jared paddling out.....

While he was out surfing... I was laying out catching some sun :)
